Position Title: Production Manager
Location: Calgary, AB, T2B 3M1
Job Type: Full Time Permanent
Position Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager or designate, the Production Manager will oversee and optimize production processes. They will plan, coordinate, and control manufacturing operations to ensure products are produced efficiently, on time, and to customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and manage the production schedule to meet customer demands and production goals.
Coordinate with Buyers to ensure raw materials needs meet production plans.
Review and adjust production plans as necessary to accommodate changes in demand or resources.
Determine staffing requirements and allocate personnel accordingly to optimize production.
Make recommendations regarding equipment use, maintenance, modification, and procurement.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production.
Set and maintain product quality standards in line with company and regulatory requirements.
Ensure product quality and champion quality control processes and tracking systems.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
Monitor staff performance and implement training or corrective actions as needed.
Manage and control production budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Animal protein knowledge considered a strong asset.
Proven experience in production or operations management required.
Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and health & safety standards.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Willingness to work with raw meat products and in a cold environment.
