Position purpose and primary objectives:
Reporting to ‘Production Manager’, the ‘Production Operator’ will play a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction by on-time delivery of high-quality profile and installation equipment. Also acts as a team member to prioritize cost-effectiveness and profitability while effectively meeting customer needs.
Qualifications & experience
Essential
Basic understanding of quality, safety and environmental systems.
Able to function well as part of a team and liaise with other departments.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Forklift licence.
Focus on accuracy and quality in all tasks, ensuring product standards are met.
Desirable
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. Extrusion and/or mixing experience preferable.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions effectively.
Commitment to continues improvement
Resilient and adaptable to business demands.
Tasks & responsibilities
Reporting into the Production Team Leader you will be working Three 12.5 hour shifts from Monday-Wednesday; Your Role will include, but not limited to:
Contribute to activities relating to achieving company objectives (customer satisfaction and profitability)
Work with team members, team leaders and all necessary personnel to take care of complications as they arise
Communicate with team leaders of any equipment problems or malfunctions, and take care of them as they come up
Select and install extrusion tooling and all other necessary equipment parts so machines are always operating at peak efficiency
Testing products to ensure they meet customers’ expectations
Performing preventative maintenance procedures on equipment to ensure optimal functioning
Ensuring workplace machinery adheres to safety guidelines and system requirements
Resolving issues as they arise and coordinating with team members and leaders to ensure effective processes
Awareness of product output to ensure target attainment
Cleaning and maintaining equipment and tools for optimal operation
Operate the material handling and dry blend systems, extrusion lines and down-stream equipment to established conditions and ensure profile is produced to required standards and specifications
Monitor and maintain the quality of profile throughout manufacturing process
Continuously strive to achieve targets related to the production of profile to meet business needs in a safe and efficient manner
Work as part of a team to create a culture of collaboration and embed recognised best practice and continuous improvement from across the manufacturing industry
Work positively and proactively with other functions across the site, supporting an integrated and engaged operational workplace
