Job Summary:
The Production Planning Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the production planning and control functions in our manufacturing facility. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, capable of optimizing production processes, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of products to meet customer demand and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning:
• Develop and implement production plans to satisfy customer orders while meeting inventory and capacity constraints.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and operations teams to assess production requirements and adjust plans as necessary.
• Monitor production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Inventory Management:
• Manage inventory levels to optimize working capital while ensuring the availability of materials and components.
• Analyse inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
• Implement and maintain systems for inventory control, including cycle counting and management of obsolete material.
Process Optimization:
• Continuously evaluate and improve production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs.
• Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles and tools to streamline operations and maximize productivity.
• Lead projects aimed at process improvement and adherence to best practices.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Analyse production data and generate reports using ERP systems and other analytics tools to track KPIs and inform decision-making.
• Present findings, recommendations, and action plans to upper management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with procurement, engineering, and production teams to ensure seamless coordination across departments.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to communicate production status, address issues, and ensure alignment on priorities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8+ years of experience in production planning and control within the automotive industry or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and Lean principles.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in managing teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
