Job Description
Each summer, Cedar Lake Ministries hires around twenty summer staff members to serve our program through eight weeks of camp. These individuals must have a desire to serve the Lord and a willingness to be a contributing member of a team that seeks to impact campers for Christ. Serving on summer staff is a rewarding experience that pushes each individual to grow in their relationship with the Lord and gain new skills along the way!
To Qualify for Summer Staff:
You must know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.
You must have a willing heart to be used by God wherever He would send you.
Your conduct must reflect that of Jesus Christ.
You must be willing to contribute to a team that seeks to clearly communicate the good news of Christ.
You must be willing to commit a full summer to service. Any exceptions are made on a case by case basis (LITs and Volunteer Nurses serve on a week by week basis).
You must meet the minimum age required for the position you are applying for (age minimums are listed below).
Important Summer Staff 2026 Dates
May 26-30: Lead Staff Training
May 31- June 5: All Staff Training
June 8: First day of Camp with Campers!
July 31: Last Day with Campers
August 1-2: Summer Debrief
The Program Assistants will be part of the Leadership Team working directly under the Full Time Program Team. Their main responsibility will be leading and discipling the counseling staff and LITs by encouraging them in God’ Word, leading devotions for staff meetings, and checking in to ensure that all staff have their needs met. Other responsibilities include leading games, helping run chapels, teaching skills, driving a boat, lifeguarding, facilitating meals, making announcements, selling items in the Kandy Kabin, assisting with camper behaviors, and more. Prior camp experience is preferred for this position. We will hire one male and one female in this position.
