Job Description
As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing significant programs from start to finish, ensuring successful delivery within established timelines, budgets, and scopes. This is a contract position, fully remote.
This role requires direct employment with CAI, as specific legal and contractual obligations apply. Please note that this position does not provide work authorization sponsorship, either now or in the future.
What You'll Do
• Oversee large programs from initiation to completion, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure success within timelines, budgets, and scope.
• Create program charters in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders, outlining essential details such as scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budgets, and timelines.
• Modify program budgets as necessary while maintaining continuous communication with sponsors.
• Regularly report on all aspects of program plans, budgets, scopes, resources, decisions, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Present updates on program status to the PMO, steering committees, and primary stakeholders.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members and negotiate personnel needs with functional managers as required.
• Evaluate program risks and issues, proposing solutions whenever applicable.
• Manage resource allocation and track project recovery across fiscal quarters.
• Identify and articulate the benefits/values of programs while ensuring realization of outcomes with sponsors and stakeholders post-delivery.
• Engage in process improvement initiatives, contributing insights to the PM Playbook, PM council, lessons learned, and related efforts.
• Prepare comprehensive program wrap-up reports and create marketing presentations for DES leadership during project closure reviews.
What You'll Need
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible professional-level experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in managing programs from initiation to closure while adhering to defined timelines, budget, and scope.
• Strong background in portfolio management, budgeting, and program delivery.
• Expertise with tools like Planisware and JIRA.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
Preferred:
• PMP or SCRUM Master certification.
• Knowledge of DES PM guidelines and processes.
Physical Demands
• Ability to perform essential job functions in accordance with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Primarily sedentary work, involving sitting or remaining stationary most of the time, with occasional movement for virtual meetings.
• Capacity to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer using a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
