Institution Overview:
Raahgiri Foundation (RF) is a registered charitable trust (non-profit organization) based in the city of Gurugram, Haryana. RF’s primary goal is to ensure road safety and reduce air pollution by promoting sustainable mobility and community development. RF promotes the awareness of reclaiming streets by diverse groups around the country, through partnering with state and city governments, educational institutes, civic society groups and various other organizations to conduct urban exploration events, organizes educational and engagement activities, etc., including India’s first sustained car free days called “Raahgiri Day”.
Position Overview:
In Haryana, RF is working on planning and implementing a Vision Zero strategy that directs tools, research, expertise, and partnerships in ensuring safe roads and reducing road deaths to zero. To work towards this end, RF is looking for a project associate to assist the project lead in implementing project activities and coordinating with partners and administrative agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will undertake and oversee a range of responsibilities in the project, few being:
Project Management:
• Assist the Project lead in work plan management, design, and delivery of project activities
• Monitor the utilization of project funds and assist the project lead in funds management
• Prepare quarterly progress reports covering the technical and financial aspects of the project
• Provide regular updates to the consortium and local institutional partners
• Assist in outreach of the project and development of communication materials required for the same
• Assist in survey design, analysis frameworks and oversee data collection and analysis
• Assist the team in developing guidelines and similar interventions required for road safety and air pollution work
• Support the team in planning and conduct of tactical urbanism (design trials)
• Support the team in conducting capacity building workshops, stakeholder engagement activities and media outreach.
Required Attributes and Credentials:
• Master’s degree in Urban Planning/Urban Design
• 1-3 years of work experience in street design and/or urban design projects with program implementation and project management experience
• Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis is a requirement
• Proficiency in Office 365 applications including SharePoint, Teams & OneDrive
• Good working knowledge of sustainable mobility practice in India.
• Knowledge of latest policies, regulations, guidelines, etc. related to urban systems is preferred
• Working knowledge of Adobe Suite, Autodesk AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGIS is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
