About the Respect at Work Taskforce

SafeWork NSW is one of the first Australian work health and safety regulators to establish a dedicated Taskforce focused on addressing gender-based harmful workplace behaviours.
The Respect at Work Taskforce is leading the implementation of a four-year strategy to prevent harmful, gender-based behaviours across NSW workplaces, with an initial focus on ****** harassment.
This includes educating NSW businesses on their duties to prevent and respond to workplace ****** harassment before it occurs and taking appropriate enforcement action to protect workers.
In this role, you will join a multidisciplinary team of specialist inspectors, policy and education expertise delivering the SafeWork NSW Respect at Work Strategy 2026-2027.
This role is a unique opportunity to influence NSW workplaces, particularly in high-risk industries, through educational resources and programs to promote voluntary compliance and best practice with WHS laws to prevent workplace ****** harassment.

Your responsibilities will include

There are two project officer roles available. This includes:

One project officer role with an emphasis on policy projects and related tasks.
The other project officer role will require more general skills to support the delivery of educational programs, campaigns and resources.
Both roles will have exposure to a range of initiatives led by the Taskforce.

Project officer (policy focus):

Provide expert policy advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the appropriate interpretation and implementation of Work Health and Safety laws, regulations and policies and support the development of projects designed to prevent and respond to workplace ****** harassment.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across government, non-government organisations, industry and small business.
Manage strategic projects to successfully deliver all key milestones and outcomes.
Research, analyse and review complex policy issues relating to workplace ****** harassment, identify emerging issues and best practice, and develop evidence-based options and recommendations for reform.
Monitor, evaluate and report on the development and/or implementation of policy projects related to workplace ****** harassment prevention and response, and to ensure the achievement of desired outcomes.
Prepare high quality written advice in the form of correspondence, reports, briefs, and discussion papers.

Project officer (general):

Manage strategic projects aligned with the Respect at Work Strategy, ensuring the delivery of key milestones and outcomes.
Utilise your effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders to build collaborative relationships.
Support the development and implementation of targeted marketing and communication activities to promote key messages with target audiences, including updates to website content.
Develop tools and resources to support businesses and workers in NSW manage their work health and safety duties and obligations
Monitor and respond to incoming enquires and support requests in a timely manner
Support the development and evaluation of compliance programs and campaigns, using data and feedback to inform learnings.

About you
