We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Property Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team. This role will be responsible for managing the accounting functions of our extensive property portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger and financial statement preparation, with a specific focus on property accounting. If you are a detail-oriented professional with a knack for numbers and a passion for real estate, then we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

As a Permanent Property Accountant, you will
• Oversee the general ledger for all properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
• Utilize Yardi property management software for data entry, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy of financial data and compliance with financial regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
• Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing financial expertise to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Assist with tax preparation and filing, including property taxes and income taxes.
• Participate in financial meetings, presenting financial reports and providing insights into financial performance and trends.
• Continuously improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

To be successful as a Permanent Property Accountant, you should have
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 1 years of experience in either property accounting, public audit/advisory experience or general ledger experience in another industry
• Proficiency in Yardi property management software is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger functions, financial statement preparation, and accounting standards and regulations.
• Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and accurately.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• CPA certification is a plus.
