Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager will supervise, track, and evaluate day-to-day activities, along with assisting in establishing, developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Corporate Controller, Property Accountant, as well as property managers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Practice OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and comply with all company safety policies and procedures
Perform month-end close in accordance with company policies and procedures. Month-end closes include, but are not limited to, bank reconciliations, prepaid schedule, fixed assets, inventory, accruals, payroll, and journal entries
Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements with analysis
Collaborate with the property management team to ensure accurate financial reporting and follow up with the property manager for any necessary corrections.
Assist with property management tasks including but not limited to the following; preparing and reviewing lease agreements, reviewing and updating tenant ledgers, etc.
Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Establish new internal accounting policies and enforce existing policies.
Monitor emerging technology to identify opportunities for automating the accounting process while maintaining accuracy.
