Caring for our city, creating a future for all
Our people are passionate about their communities and connected to their teams. They’re motivated by our genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion, and our clear, compelling plan for our global city: Sustainable Sydney 2030 – 2050 Continuing the Vision.

Be part of a purpose-led organisation with care at its core. You’ll make a difference by acting in the best interests of our communities and city. Be better together with collaborative and inclusive partnerships. Embrace possibilities and be open to new ideas and creating bold solutions.

About the role
Are you an experienced credit professional, looking for an exciting opportunity to work with one of the world’s most vibrant cities? The City of Sydney has recently undergone a significant transformational change in relation to its Property Services, where we have moved from an outsourced model of property management to one that is based inhouse.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual who will work as part of the City’s revenue team to help deliver and maintain a highly efficient, best in class collections and property services strategy over the next 12 months.

The City of Sydney manages a unique and diverse range of assets, including heritage-listed commercial buildings, award-winning libraries, and operationally critical depots. The portfolio includes over 1,500 property interests worth $2.7 billion, covering assets such as building properties, footway agreements, vacant land, and road interests, with 535 active leases. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the realisation of our Sustainable Sydney 2030–2050 vision by driving high-performance in a key area of debt management.

As the Property Receivables Coordinator, you’ll:

Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of best practice property related credit control and support the Property Receivables Manager with the development and delivery of technology system upgrades and enhancements, together with tools and resources to implement this framework.
Work with both internal and external customers and stakeholders to help maximise results and outcomes.
Manage data to ensure accurate and timely accounting, invoicing and collections of the cities property rents and license fees in accordance with contracts, leases and Council policies.
Identify and propose changes for improvements based on data and trend analysis to maximise cash flow and ensure governance across the invoicing and collection processes.
We’re looking for someone with:

Recent experience managing debtor portfolios, with successful debt collection performance and efficiency and experience in issue resolution.
Proven track record of delivering process improvements in credit operations.
Exceptional relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Confidence in communicating effectively across all levels, both written and verbal skills.
Experience in accounting and governance with high level technical systems skills.
Knowledge and demonstrated experience in Australian debt recovery laws and contracts.
Experience in the collection of property portfolio debts within a local government and experience and understanding of Tririga and Technology One systems are highly desirable.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.

The recommended applicant must complete a pre-employment health declaration and a criminal history check.

Applications must be submitted online by 11:59pm, Friday 1 May 2026.

Interviews will be conducted on Wednesday 6 May 2026.

For more information, contact Dean Perryman, Property Receivables Manager on 02 9246 7877.
