Zurich’s Commercial Property team is at the forefront of delivering tailored insurance solutions that protect what matters most to our customers. As our new Property Underwriter, you’ll play a key role in supporting strategic broker relationships across NSW and ACT, helping to shape risk decisions and drive value through smart, customer-focused underwriting.

You will also be responsible for the following:
Underwrite and analyse renewal and new business opportunities within delegated authority levels.
Collaborate with brokers and internal teams to deliver tailored property insurance solutions.
Leverage data insights and digital tools to inform pricing, coverage decisions, and risk assessments.
Partner across Claims, Distribution, and other underwriting lines to support multi-line opportunities.
Contribute to underwriting innovation by sharing insights and supporting proposition development.

We’re looking for a customer-focused underwriter who thrives on building strong relationships, brings a thoughtful approach to risk, and can confidently navigate complex conversations to deliver fair and effective outcomes.
In order to be successful, you will have the following:
A strong customer focus, with the ability to build trusted relationships that make brokers and businesses want to come back.
Experience underwriting commercial property risks or general insurance portfolios, whether from small to medium enterprises or broader portfolios, with sound judgment and a willingness to grow existing expertise.
Confidence in navigating complex conversations and negotiating outcomes that balance customer needs with risk integrity.
A collaborative mindset and approachable style—someone who’s easy to work with and represents Zurich’s values in every interaction.
A commitment to underwriting discipline, attention to detail, and continuous learning in a fast-paced environment.
