We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse or Social Worker to join our Crisis Resolution team at Hillmorton Hospital, Christchurch. As a member of our team, you will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment providing urgent and acute mental health care in Waitaha Canterbury.

We are a committed and diverse multidisciplinary team that values the importance of providing quality care and services to our clients, friends, and whānau. Our team works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for assessing the needs of individuals experiencing a psychiatric crisis, providing treatment and support, and working closely with our clients and their whānau to develop effective care plans. Your ability to think critically, work independently, and provide timely interventions is essential. You will also be required to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scope.
Skills and experience in assessment and case management.
A full New Zealand driver's license.
Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Ideally, you will be a Duly Authorised Officer who has been trained and signed off as being able to facilitate the MHA, if not currently a DAO applicants for this position will be willing to undertake this paid three-day DAO training as provided by the Waitaha Canterbury.
