Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist
About the Role:
We are seeking qualified Consultant Psychiatrists to join the Mental Health Division across various positions, including General Adult and Inpatient Services, Community Mental Health, Emergency Department, and Mental Health Emergency Centre. These roles are located within a Perth Hospital and Health Service.
Main Responsibilities:
The Consultant Psychiatrist will play a key role in ensuring patient safety and quality of care while providing leadership, training, orientation, supervision, and education for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners, and other health professionals where appropriate.
About the Team:
The Health Service offers a comprehensive range of public mental health services for individuals aged 16 and above through both community services and hospital settings. They operate two major mental health divisions, each catering to different suburbs.
Mental Health Services:
The Mental Health Division delivers care through 128 mental health beds across youth, adult, rehabilitation, and older adult inpatient units. The facilities also include a tertiary-level Emergency Department and a comprehensive mental health consultation liaison service for general and surgical wards. The inpatient services feature a state-of-the-art Mental Health Emergency Centre, and a purpose-built 12-bed Mental Health Unit dedicated to treating individuals with acute and complex mental health conditions. AHPRA-registered Psychiatry Specialists (FRANZCP)
