About the Role
Our Psychiatry services are some of the largest and busiest in New Zealand. Psychiatric training in Christchurch is run in conjunction with the Department of Psychological Medicine at the University of Otago's Christchurch Clinical School.

Permanent full-time Psychiatry Registrar, training, and non-training positions, available, commencing in August 2026. Based principally at our dedicated psychiatric site (Hillmorton Hospital), but with rotations to our other metropolitan hospital sites.
About you
You will have completed your first two post graduate years (PGY3+)
Knowledge and commitment of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how the principles can be applied to health.
A willingness to grow and further develop an equity lens and skillset, both to assist Māori and minority groups.
You must be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility by visiting the Council's website at www.mcnz.org.nz
