Hills Little Reader is a leading learning centre dedicated to helping children build a strong academic and learning foundation from an early age. Our programs support Preschool and Primary students across key areas including phonics and literacy, English, mathematics, communication, and confidence building.
We offer structured, research-informed courses that develop essential early learning skills such as reading and writing awareness, phonemic and decodable skills, vocabulary development, comprehension, numeracy foundations, logical thinking, and effective communication. Through small-group instruction and engaging lessons, we aim to nurture confident, capable, and motivated learners.
Due to increasing enrolment demand, we are seeking a dedicated and motivated Public Speaking / Drama Coach to join our growing team and support children in developing strong communication skills and self-confidence.
Job Description
This is a casual/contract on-site role, based at our Rouse Hill centre, with potential opportunities at an upcoming Castle Hill location.
Bachelor's degree or above in Education, Communication, or a related field.
Previous experience working with younger children in an educational or instructional setting is preferrable.
Strong public speaking and communication skills.
Understanding of child development principles.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for helping children succeed.
Be able to work after school hours
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development
Develop age-appropriate public speaking and drama curriculum aligned with children’s developmental stages
Design creative, interactive, and engaging lessons attach public speaking concepts in a fun and accessible way
Classroom Instruction
Deliver dynamic and engaging public speaking / drama classes
Guide students through presentations, storytelling, and performance activities
Provide constructive feedback and positive reinforcement
Communication Skills Development
Build foundational communication skills including articulation, voice projection, pacing, and body language
Incorporate activities to enhance vocabulary, expression, and language confidence
Confidence Building
Support students in overcoming stage fright and speaking anxiety
Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
Encourage creativity, self-expression, and risk-taking
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in Education, Communication, Drama, or a related field
Previous experience working with young children in an educational, coaching, or instructional setting (preferred)
Strong public speaking, presentation, and communication skills
Understanding of child development principles
Patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping children grow in confidence
Reliable and professional work ethic
Ability to work after-school hours
Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain
