Job description
Software Engineer
• Python, AWS & Terraform Full-time
• Remote (Must be a UK-based Developer) £60,000 + Benefits including 33 Days Holiday, 6% Pension & More Are you a Software Engineer with Python and Cloud experience, looking to join an organisation where your development skills will genuinely make an impact? Do you want to be part of a team that plays a pivotal role in building a world-class platform that is transforming healthcare and improving lives? WRK Digital is delighted to partner with an innovative healthcare company whose software is used by millions of people in the UK daily, enhancing lives. Ranked among the top HealthTech organisations worldwide, the team is committed to developing the next generation of healthcare technology that truly makes a difference. Their products lead the way in delivering patient-centered, connected, digitally-enabled health and care services. Working closely with key customers in the healthcare sector—including the NHS—our solutions are used in every setting, from GP surgeries and community care to high street pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, and specialist R&D services. As a Software Engineer, you'll be working on cutting-edge cloud infrastructure at scale, utilizing a tech stack that includes Python, SQL, and Terraform (or CloudFormation), all hosted in AWS. The team has built a sophisticated data platform to help the NHS manage one of the richest healthcare datasets. Currently, this platform houses 1 petabyte of data and can query 1.5 billion rows per second. This role provides an opportunity to work on Big Data applications and learn technologies such as PySpark, Airflow, Trino, and more. Its a collaborative, fully remote UK-based team, passionate about their work and committed to having fun along the way. While remote, there is also the option to work from tech hubs in Leeds or London (Paddington) for those who value time on-site. Plus, there are optional quarterly team socials. The team believe in the power of technology to make healthcare faster, better, and more accessible for all. In this role, you'll spend 75% of your time focused on improving software and 25% working directly with customers to understand their needs and help them leverage the platform. You'll be able to see the real-world impact of your work every day. Key responsibilities include:
• Involvement in all aspects of the development lifecycle, from architecture and code reviews to testing and hands-on coding
• Supporting product enhancements, adding new features, and improving functionality
• Collaborating closely with your team, providing guidance to peers, and actively contributing to technical discussions
• Developing solutions to complex challenges We are seeking software engineers who are curious, always looking for ways to improve and innovate. We encourage creative thinking and value autonomy and ownership. If you enjoy taking initiative and are ready to make a meaningful impact in the HealthTech industry, we would love to hear from you. If you're a Python Software Engineer looking for a role with a high-performing team working on exciting projects, apply now or contact James Westwood at WRK Digital for a confidential conversation about next steps. We look forward to receiving your application!
