Job Description
As a QC Chemist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our sterile manufacturing processes in accordance with WHO (World Health Organization) and ICH (International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use) regulations. You will be responsible for conducting various analytical tests, including UV-VIS spectrophotometry and HPLC analysis, and managing the water purification system to maintain the highest quality standards in our sterile manufacturing plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Analytical Testing: Perform a range of analytical tests, including but not limited to:
UV-VIS spectrophotometry to analyze substances and quantify chemical compounds.
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) analysis to assess the quality and purity of pharmaceutical products.
pH measurements, titrations, and other chemical analyses as required.
Quality Compliance: Ensure compliance with WHO and ICH regulations and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines in all testing and documentation activities.
Instrumentation: Operate and maintain UV-VIS spectrophotometry equipment, HPLC machines, and other laboratory instruments. Perform routine calibration and troubleshooting as needed.
Data Integrity: Record and maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including test results, observations, and any deviations. Ensure data integrity and traceability of results.
Sample Management: Properly handle and store samples, reagents, and standards, maintaining a well-organized and efficient laboratory environment.
Method Development and Validation: Collaborate with the QC team to develop and validate analytical methods. Ensure methods are robust, reliable, and compliant.
Water Plant Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of the water purification system, ensuring the production of high-quality purified water for pharmaceutical use.
Documentation: Prepare and review test protocols, reports, and certificates of analysis (CoA). Assist in the generation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Quality Investigations: Participate in the investigation of out-of-specification (OOS) results, non-conformances, and deviations. Support the implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
Training: Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies. Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues and support the training of junior staff members.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations within the laboratory. Report any safety incidents or hazards promptly.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
years of experience in Quality Control within the pharmaceutical industry, with expertise in analytical testing methods, UV-VIS spectrophotometry, and HPLC.
Proficiency in handling and troubleshooting laboratory instruments.
Strong understanding of WHO and ICH regulations, cGMP guidelines, and pharmacopeial standards.
Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge of water purification systems in pharmaceutical manufacturing is a plus.
