About Us
Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki | Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) has been a leader in early childhood education since 1908. With 107 kindergartens and four KiNZ centres across Tāmaki Makaurau, we are committed to providing high-quality, inclusive early learning experiences that reflect the diversity of our tamariki and their whānau.

The Opportunity
We are seeking both:
Qualified and registered ECE kaiako
Unqualified relievers with experience or a strong interest in early childhood education
to join our Reliever Pool for Waiheke Kindergarten.

As a reliever, you will:
Step into a welcoming and collaborative team environment
Support play-based learning experiences that nurture tamariki strengths and interests
Engage in sustainability-focused learning connected to the local environment
Build positive relationships with tamariki, whānau and the teaching team
Bring energy, initiative and a hands-on approach to learning
What You will Need
For Qualified Kaiako:
A recognised NZ ECE teaching qualification
Full or provisional NZ Teacher Registration with a current practising certificate
Current First Aid certificate
For Unqualified Relievers:
Experience working with tamariki, or a genuine interest in early childhood education
A willingness to learn and work under the guidance of registered kaiako
For All Applicants:
A positive, adaptable and collaborative approach
Confidence using ICT
A commitment to high-quality early childhood education
The legal right to live and work in New Zealand

How Relieving Works
We use the Jitbug app for booking relievers. You will need access to a smartphone, tablet, iPad or computer to receive job notifications and accept shifts.
