Overview:
Since 1983, Tara Plastics, located just outside of Atlanta, has been manufacturing superior plastic films used in a wide array of flexible packaging applications. Today our company manufactures the highest quality film products used by our customers in the food processing industry as well as by converters to produce some of the finest and most reliable product packaging found on grocery stores shelves and in refrigerated and frozen food cases.

What You’ll Do:
Tara Plastics is seeking a highly organized and proactive Quality Auditor/Lab Technician to perform a broad range of quality and laboratory functions. This role is responsible for conducting plant floor audits, performing quality measurements, and supporting laboratory operations to ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and food safety programs.
Primary Job Functions:
· Conduct routine sampling and audits of systems, processes, and packaging, including products produced on extrusion machines and operator quality documentation.
· Collect, measure, and record key quality attribute data in accordance with customer requirements, ensuring timely and accurate entry into computerized systems to maintain complete case histories.
· Identify and report quality issues, trends, and nonconformances to Production and Quality Management.
· Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all applicable Food Safety Programs.
· Maintain proper storage, labeling, and filing of product retains.
· Monitor, report, and document out-of-calibration equipment in accordance with established procedures.
· Monitor laboratory supply levels and report low inventory as needed.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready quality laboratory always.
· Provide support to Production, Technical, and Marketing teams on special projects as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Your Background:
· Ability to read, understand, and accurately document quality specifications, procedures, and reports.
· Ability to interpret specifications and identify quality issues.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills to report quality nonconformances to appropriate personnel.
· Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
· Proficient computer skills, including email and Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
· Excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
· Ability to follow company and departmental policies and procedures.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· High School Diploma (or) GED
Additional Qualifications:
· Experience in manufacturing and quality assurance environments.
· Familiarity with food safety standards and programs.
· Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
· Exposure to plastic blow molding operations.
