Focusing on being omnipresent, we are increasing our penetration and strengthening our MT & GT channels. Parallelly, we have expanded our base in SE-Asia, US, UK and GCC & other geographies.
Job Summary:
The Quality Control Microbiologist is responsible for maintaining and operating the microbiology lab, executing day-to-day activities, and conducting various microbiological assays. The ideal candidate should have a postgraduate degree in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Pharmacy and a minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control in pharmaceutical, microbiology, or biotechnology industries.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain the microbiology lab and ensure its smooth functioning.
• Calibrate and validate autoclaves, incubators, centrifuges, weighing balances, and other laboratory instruments.
• Perform testing on finished products, air samples, and raw materials.
• Procure instruments, consumables, and other items required for lab operations.
• Prepare, sterilize, and dispense media, and conduct growth promotion tests.
• Perform total microbial count in finished products, raw materials, and air samples according to BIS guidelines.
• Perform microbial staining techniques, such as Gram's staining and acid-fast staining.
• Perform activity assays of products against different microbial strains using MIC and other methods.
• Perform environmental monitoring of controlled areas in the Microbiology laboratory and the manufacturing area.
• Ensure timely testing and release of Microbiology department-related finished products according to approved Quality Specifications/Documents.
Qualifications:
• Postgraduate degree in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Pharmacy.
• Minimum of 3 years of working experience in quality control in pharma/microbiology/biotechnology industries.
• Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques, assays, and equipment.
• Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and quality standards in the industry.
• Proficient in laboratory documentation and record-keeping.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
