Full job description
To lead and oversee the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions for the PEB manufacturing unit, ensuring compliance with internal standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements, while driving continual improvement in product and process quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management System:
Develop, implement, and maintain QMS as per ISO +001 and applicable industry codes.
Define and enforce quality standards for raw material, in-process, and final product inspections.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of QC Inspectors, Welding Inspectors, and NDT technicians.
Develop skill matrices and training programs for continuous improvement of the quality team.
Manufacturing Quality Control:
Oversee inspections during welding, fabrication, painting, and erection stages.
Ensure WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) and WPQ (Welder Performance Qualification) are prepared, approved, and followed.
Client & Project Coordination:
Manage client quality inspections and third-party audits.
Prepare and maintain quality documentation such as ITPs (Inspection Test Plans), NCRs, and QA dossiers.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for quality failures.
Drive initiatives to reduce rejection rates, rework costs, and improve process capability.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure adherence to national and international standards (AWS D1.1, IS standards, AISC, etc.).
Support safety initiatives related to welding, fabrication, and material handling.
Mandatory Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Control within PEB / heavy structural fabrication industry.
Experience in fabrication, welding inspection, and erection quality is mandatory.
Education:
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering.
Certified Welding Inspector (AWS CWI / CSWIP 3.1) preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of welding standards, fabrication drawings, and PEB manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in quality tools (FMEA, 8D, 5 Why, Control Plans).
Strong leadership, communication, and client-handling abilities.
KPIs:
% reduction in customer complaints and NCRs.
First-time right production rate.
On-time completion of client inspections and handovers.
Cost savings through quality improvement initiatives.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹10,247.25 - ₹35,5+0.31 per month
