Ability to hear the conversation, comprehend and communicate in spoken and written English more than 75% of the time
Ability to wear protective equipment, such as gloves, masks, gowns, and lead aprons
Ability to work and move about in confined spaces

Responsibilities
Patients’ physical and emotional needs are met compassionately and competently
Patient privacy is protected
Performs all aspects of diagnostic radiology including trauma, orthopedic, fluoroscopy, G.U. contrast exams, and operative and portable exams
Able to operate imaging equipment and other devices as appropriate
Positions patients to obtain anatomic information
Calculates exposure factors and collimates correctly to reduce radiation exposure to patients
Practices radiation protection for patients and personnel
Evaluates images for technical quality and use sound judgment to take additional images to better demonstrate pathology
Evaluates orders for appropriate history and clinical information and seek guidance on the correct exam if questionable
Reports all equipment malfunctions and hazards to the appropriate supervisor
Interacts professionally and courteously with patients, co-workers, and medical staff
Assists in training of student radiographers
Utilizes time productively and appropriately with respect to patient flow, room use, stocking of supplies, and clerical duties to increase department efficiency
Ensures that patient wait times are minimized
Spends more than +0% of working time on productive tasks without supervisory prompting
Follows Universal Precaution guidelines with each patient
Attends yearly "Blood-borne pathogens/OSHA" in service
Practices aseptic technique when necessary
Produces an accurate RIS and PACS record of each exam
Completes all Meditech entries and edits orders to reflect the correct exam
Uses appropriate markers
Sends complete record to PACS on correct accession number
Pursues continuing education by attending department and hospital-wide programs, regional seminars, and/or college courses
Willingly performs any task for which the employee is competent
