At He Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens (WMK), we're proud to support over 100 kindergartens across a variety of regions—from Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Manawatū, Kāpiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt, Wairarapa and South Otago. We also offer a unique home-based service, Etu Ao, in Porirua and Levin, with a special focus on Pasific families.

Today, more than 6,000 children are part of the Whānau Manaaki kindergarten family, with an additional 150 children enrolled in our Etu Ao home-based programme. Together, we're building strong foundations for lifelong learning and wellbeing.
Community Description:
Raumati South Kindergarten is on the Kapiti Coast in a vibrant coastal suburb; located in a cul-de-sac next to a local reserve. The kindergarten has strong relationships with local schools and draws children from Paekakariki through to Waikanae. The kindergarten is well resourced and has a great indoor/outdoor flow. The grounds are spacious and there are well-established vegetable and fruit gardens which are nurtured by children, families and kaiako. The kindergarten is an active participant in the Enviroschool programme and has achieved Gold status within this program.
The kindergarten has a strong commitment to their localized curriculum and engages actively in strengthening their relationships with iwi, including bringing pūrākau into their curriculum and continuously increasing te reo Māori me ōna tikanga within their curriculum everyday.
There is a high level of community spirit at Raumati South Kindergarten with parents involved in gardening projects and giving parental support during sessions. Parents and whānau are seen as key partners in the teaching and learning process and contribute to the development of the kindergarten's curriculum.
This role is a .8 Teacher worked 32 hours per week.
Monday: 11am - 4.30 pm - with 1/2 hr unpaid break
Tuesday: 8am - 4.30 pm - with 1/2 hr unpaid break
Wednesday: 8am - 4.30 pm - with 1/2 hr unpaid break
Thursday: 8am - 4.30 pm - with 1/2 hr unpaid break
Friday: 11.30am - 2.30
We are licenced for 45 children who attend for 6 hours each day. You will join our team of 4 other teachers and administrators.
We are looking for an enthusiastic ECE kaiako who:
Has a strong active commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in their practice and is committed to Te reo Māori me ōna tikanga in their daily interactions with children and families
Is excited about being involved in the kindergartens Enviro School journey
Values being an innovative thinker, is flexible in their approach to teaching and learning, and embracing new ideas
Is passionate about exploring the localised curriculum of the kindergarten and the surrounding areas and bringing local pūrākau into their practice.
