Florence Rd Preschool is a well-established, independent, community-based preschool located in Surrey Hills. Our service is supported by a committee of parents, with whom we work closely to deliver a progressive program. Our staff are highly experienced and have long tenures, which is a significant strength of our preschool. We pride ourselves on fostering a welcoming and nurturing environment and value the diversity of our community. Our Preschool offers inclusive and stimulating play-based free funded Kindergarten programs for both 3- and 4-year-old children. Our Educators are committed to the belief that children learn best through meaningful play that is engaging, open-ended, and creative. We encourage strong connections between home and Kindergarten, collaborating with families and inviting their participation in our programs. Our service maintains robust links with the community, including Bush Kinder and Intergenerational programs, as well as partnerships with local schools and businesses.
We are seeking a Diploma or Certificate III ,Early Childhood Educator to become part of our 3-Year-Old team at Florence Rd Preschool, commencing in Term 1 2026. This part-time position is for three days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday for a total of 23.25 hours a week. Working hours are 8.45am-4.15pm,(session times are 9.15am-3.15pm), with 1.5 hours of Planning time allocated per fortnight. The successful candidate will assist the Teacher in providing a safe and welcoming environment for both children and families. They will have a comprehensive understanding of play-based learning and be able to demonstrate responsive and meaningful interactions with children. The role requires confident communication with families and other Educators, as well as a commitment to upholding Child Safe Standards and adhering to our Code of Conduct. A strong understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), Indigenous Perspectives, Children’s Services Regulations, and the National Quality Framework is essential.
