Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced Real Estate Manager. Our ideal candidate has excellent English communication skills, outstanding and proven negotiation skills, is well-connected and immersed within the Real Estate market in Canada and is passionate about the restaurant and food service industries. In this role you will directly report to and support the Director of Franchise Development and Leasing in finding, negotiating and securing new sites for OPA!’s expansion across Canada. You will also help to support and manage any new or existing Lease renewals.
Experience in the commercial retail Real Estate market is mandatory for consideration. You’ll use your experience to help OPA! with its strong and continued growth, and in turn will have opportunities for personal and professional growth within the company.
Objectives of this Role:
Ensure resources provided for OPA!’s growth are properly and efficiently applied and managed.
Increase brand awareness within the Landlords and Developers’ community in existing and new markets.
Identify opportunities to improve OPA!’s rapid and steady growth.
Responsibilities:
Identify, negotiate and secure new sites in existing and new areas within Canada.
Develop marketing strategies to identify new Real Estate opportunities.
Work with our network of Real Estate agents in markets all over Canada.
Assist the Director of Franchise Development and Leasing with new and existing Leases, as well as any franchise and leasing matters when required.
Identify sites in new and existing markets for OPA’s Franchise Development.
Identify individual Franchise opportunities within existing markets.
Manage the lease negotiation process for new locations and renewals.
Liaise with landlords and support new Franchisees through the new store opening process.
Execute yearly growth objectives with regular tracking and progress reports.
Build brand awareness with landlords in respective territories.
Build relationships and work with Franchisees to support ongoing development results.
Ensure all OPA! Franchise activity is compliant and consistent with all related processes and policies, with both provincial regulations and OPA! internal requirements.
Facilitate all necessary approvals and contractual agreements for existing store transfers and/or sales.
Coordinate and support existing stores with transfer of leases.
Work closely with Director of Franchising and Leasing on strategic initiatives to achieve goals.
Some travel within Canada may be required for this role.
The position is based at the OPA! Head Office in Calgary.
Skills and Qualifications:
Must have at least 5 years of proven experience in the Real Estate market, preferably with franchised restaurant systems.
Post secondary education (4 year degree or more preferred).
Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Strong knowledge of the use of social media for building relationships and brand awareness.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
