Job Description
Refugee Resettlement assists in helping create a home-away-from-home, we assist government-approved refugees in becoming self-sufficient through cultural orientation, job development, family reunification and resettlement.
Responsible for programmatic clerical work, general office functions, and record keeping. Assisting staff in maintaining and completing file documentation.
What you Deliver
Greeting, receiving, and directing visitors and clients, communicate with front desk to make sure clients are served in a timely manner by staff. Answering, screening, and transferring phone calls. Resolving administrative problems and inquiries. Keeping record of sign-out, sign-in book for personnel and for volunteers.
Entering clients' information in the system. Creating and submitting to HCPHES weekly list of clients schedule for health screening.
Sorting and distributing incoming correspondence in a timely manner; preparing and sending client correspondence.
Maintaining and ordering office supplies. Keeping file room organized and stocked.
Gathering weekly and monthly timesheets to submit to payroll in a timely manner. Gather monthly reimbursement reports from staff to submit to payroll department in a timely manner.
Performing other duties as required by supervisor such as preparing for special events and projects. Assisting with outreach, consortium and refugee services providers activities, participating in staff retreats, United Way tours, agency fairs and speaking engagements.
And other duties, as assigned.
The Expertise We're Looking For
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Two (2) years of experience in clerical training or comparable .
One year social services casework and/or clerical experience.
Bilingual in Spanish in English.
Valid Texas Driver’s License
