About the Role

Based in BYD's Sydney office in Macquarie Park, this role will be responsible for lifting sales and product capability across your assigned region through a combination of in-store coaching, evaluation, and training delivery.

As a Regional Field Trainer, you will regularly visit stores to observe performance, evaluate capability, provide structured coaching, and deliver both face-to-face and virtual training, including induction and product training. This role combines the strengths of a Product Trainer and Training Specialist, with a stronger emphasis on real-world application and behavioural uplift in-store. This role is highly field-based and plays a critical role in ensuring consistent customer experience, strong product knowledge, and effective sales behaviours across the BYD network.

Key responsibilities:

Field Coaching & Capability Evaluation

Conduct regular store visits within the region to observe sales behaviours, customer interactions, and product demonstrations.

Evaluate sales and product knowledge using structured observation and assessment tools.

Provide timely, practical, and constructive coaching to sales team members and leaders.

Identify capability gaps and recommend targeted coaching or training interventions.

Reinforce BYD sales standards, customer experience expectations, and product positioning in-store.

2.Training Delivery (Face-to-Face & Virtual)

Facilitate engaging training sessions for sales teams, including:

Product training (current and future vehicle range)

Sales skills and customer experience training

Induction training for new starters

Deliver face-to-face training sessions within the region as required, alongside virtual sessions nationally.

Adapt facilitation style and methods to suit different experience levels and learning needs.

Use role-plays, workshops, and hands-on activities to reinforce learning and confidence.

Product & Technical Knowledge

Build and maintain strong knowledge of BYD vehicles, power trains, technology, and key differentiates.

Translate technical and product information into clear, customer-friendly language sales teams can confidently use.

Stay up to date with new product launches, updates, and feature changes to ensure training remains current.

4.Training Content & Program Support

Deliver and support training programs and materials developed by the central training team.

Provide feedback from the field to inform continuous improvement of training content and programs.

Ensure consistency and quality of training delivery across the region.

Reporting & Collaboration

Maintain accurate records of store visits, coaching interactions, and training delivery.

Share insights and trends from the field with the broader training team and key stakeholders.

Collaborate with Product Trainers, Learning Designers, and regional stakeholders to align priorities and delivery.

Key requirements:

Experience

Experience facilitating training, coaching, or workshops in a sales or customer-facing environment.

Automotive, EV, retail, or technology industry experience is highly regarded.

Experience working in-store or in field-based roles is an advantage.

2.Technical & Training Skills

Ability to deliver engaging face-to-face and virtual training sessions.

Confidence explaining product features, technology, and key selling points.

Comfortable using presentation tools (PowerPoint, Google Slides) and virtual platforms(Zoom, Microsoft Teams).

Willingness to use Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital assessment tools.

3.Soft Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence without authority.

Coaching mindset with the ability to give clear, constructive feedback.

Highly organised and able to manage travel, store visits, and training schedules.

Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working independently in the field.

Travel Requirements:

Regular travel within the assigned region is required.

Occasional interstate travel may be required for major training events or product launches.
