Job Description:

Patient and staff safety as our promise means that the management of patient flow and volumes requires a systematic approach that all partners can understand and own. RVH has a documented and coordinated approach to improve client flow and address emergency department overcrowding.

Patient Access & Flow
Bed Allocation
Patient Flow Coordinators
Hospital Services Leaders (HSL)
Nursing Reserve Unit (NRU)
Staffing Office
Discharge Planners
As the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) you are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the organizational philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, the College of Nurses (CNO), and all relevant legislation.

As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:

Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope
Completion of recognized Medication Administration Course
Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
Current BCLS
Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession
Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area
Functions independently within scope of practice
Computer literacy in current software applications

Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and others
Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service
Ability to learn about, from and with other members of the patient care team to foster a strong interprofessional model of care
