We are seeking a motivated individual who will be responsible to build, maintain, and troubleshoot non-production environments in support of projects and BAU change, through health checks, issue resolution, database provision and application releases.

Key tasks include:
• Ensuring that the non-production environments (testing, UAT, training, etc) are provided, populated, and maintained by releasing and configuring new or upgraded software and services, running database restores and scripts, ensuring that the necessary users/group permissions are understood and applied.
• Conduct smoke tests of the releases prior to handing over the applications.
• Complete environment preparation and releases within agreed service levels.
• Take ownership of environment or release related issues, consulting with specialist infrastructure and database teams where necessary, and ensure effective communication is maintained.
• Proactively monitor, capture, and report on environment or application related issues with clarity and supporting analysis.
• Work with Release Management to deploy changes and projects into the Live environment.
• Build and maintain the library of standard technical documentation.
• Collaborate with delivery, infrastructure, and database teams to ensure release plans are of sufficient quality, investigate and resolve release exceptions, diagnose application and configuration issues, identify any risks or issues.

Required Skills:
• Proven expertise in the support of large and/or complex IT solutions.
• Able to consult with internal and external teams to relay the required infrastructure design and sizing parameters prior to software deployment
• Performing both internal and client deployments against agreed project timelines and defined system specifications.
• Comfortable with working in both Unix and Windows Environments
• Experience using Jira as well as other tracking tools
• Working experience with but not limited to SQL queries, Bash, Batch, Perl, Python, InstallShield, or Quickbuild.
• Experience with source code management such as Perforce and BitBucket
• Well-practiced in recognising and responding to priorities, based on specific information provided.
• Effective stakeholder management (internal and external) and building positive working relationships.
• Confident working under own initiative, as well as part of a team with clear communication skills.
Desirable skills:
• Experience of developing in an Agile and/or DevOps environment is highly desirable, including unit testing, behaviour driven development, and continuous integration/continuous deployment.
• Experience in ITIL processes and Change Management in an Agile environment.
• Knowledge of container technologies like OpenShift and Kubernetes.
