Our client, a rapidly growing multinational corporation, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Remote Senior Accountant specializing in Financial Reporting to join their established, fully remote finance team. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the company's financial statements in accordance with global accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in GAAP/IFRS, experience with complex financial reporting, and the ability to manage tasks autonomously in a virtual environment.
Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies. Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations. Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures. Manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy of journal entries and account classifications. Participate in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function. Coordinate with other departments to gather financial information and support business decisions. Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations. Assist in the preparation of tax filings and related documentation. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a significant focus on financial reporting. In-depth knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS. Proven experience in preparing financial statements for a corporate entity. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines in a remote work setting. High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail. Experience with consolidations and intercompany accounting is a plus. Previous experience in a remote accounting role is advantageous.
