About the role:
We, at Turing, are looking for talented remote senior SQL developers who will be responsible for architecting and building data solutions to operate and scale data in order to support the internal and external (client) processes. Job responsibilities:
- Create database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, functions, etc.
- Take responsibility of tuning complex queries, procedures, and indexing strategies
- Practice SQL Server best practice and guide junior developers in data modeling, database design, etc.
- Run unit test to review code and suggest necessary changes
- Develop solutions to deliver massive amounts of data in high transaction volume applications
- Create Entity Relationship (ER) Diagrams to the proposed database
- Contribute in finding the root cause of any problem in production and work closely with DevOps to resolve operational issues
- Work with QA teams to ensure the highest quality software delivery to clients
- Participate in multiple projects simultaneously and share feedback with stakeholders
- Communicate with the delivery and product teams effectively
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- At least 5+ years of experience in Software/SQL development (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
- Experience with SQL Server Integration and SQL Server Reporting Services
- Exceptional ability to read and write advanced T-SQL code, performance tuning, index analysis
- Good understanding of SQL code unit testing strategies
- Excellent working experience in Excel VBA, Oracle, and SQL Server
- Sound knowledge of designing scalable data models and normalization principles
- Solid understanding of performance tuning tools like SQL plan explorer, Tuning Wizard etc.
- Fluency in English language for effective communication
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4 hour overlap with US time zones
