Job Summary
The successful candidate will work under the direction of Dr. Naveen Poonai in the role of Research Coordinator. The position will assist the department of Paediatric Emergency with investigator sponsored clinical research trials.

Responsibilities:

Study participant screening, obtaining informed consent and enrolling patients into clinical trials
Coordinating and conducting study related procedures, interventions and assessments
Research study drug administration (oral, intranasal or IV)
Reviewing adverse events with Principle Investigators
Coordinating patient follow-up visits, assessments and tests
Data collection and date entry into REDCap
Other duties as assigned

Rate of Pay: $32.66 - $40.83 per hour
Hours of Work: 15 hours per week
Duration: 1 year renewable

Qualifications
Successful completion a bachelor's degree or diploma in a health regulated profession
Minimum 1 year recent related experience in a similar role; preferably in a research environment
Include any computer skills or program knowledge required and level of proficiency
Include soft skills required, i.e. interpersonal, communication, organizational time management, attention to detail, prioritization, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Current GCP Certificate, knowledge of TCPS2, Health Canada Division 5 Training, TDA/IATA, Lawson CORE SOPs
Familiar with Health Canada and Food and Drug regulations and knowledge of ICH guidelines
Ability to interact with paediatric patients and perform all study related procedures for various study protocols
Ability to manage numerous clinical trials simultaneously
Demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft programs such as Excel and Outlook etc.
Experience with Cerner, PowerChart, & RedCAP software programs an asset
Attention to detail particularly when following study protocols, developing data measures and resolving data anomalies
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
