An international company with a network of over 200 galleries opened in just 4 years, the US is our largest and fastest growing market. Our head office for North America is located in Toronto and we are looking a HR Manager for the US market only.

External: Supply & Agency partners

Purpose & Objectives
A newly created position, the Retail HR Manager will play a pivotal role in the next phase of the company’s development, managing HR functions across our US retail operations and fast-growing network of galleries (currently 25 galleries and c.100 employees).
The key objectives associated with the role are:
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment:
The effective and timely recruitment of the best talent available.
HR Policies & Procedures:
Develop and implement in accordance with company guidelines and legislative regulations.
Onboarding:
Ensuring new employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills to thrive and succeed.
Employee Retention:
Keeping high performing talent for the long term, whilst reducing employee churn.
Work Culture
Supporting a positive, ‘employee first’ work culture, resulting in motivated, passionate and committed employees, who perform better.

Key Responsibilities
· Developing and implementing all necessary HR policies relevant to our company and business.
· Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for retail staff, ensuring timely and effective hiring, aligned with our culture and brand values.
· Organizing recruitment programmes in line with retail openings, seasonal and operational requirements.
· Leading the onboarding and training programmes of new hires.
· Provide professional generalist HR advice and coaching to Gallery Managers.
· Manage employee relations, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive, high-performance work culture.
· Overseeing the company’s Performance Management process.
· Monitor and address employee satisfaction and engagement, implementing initiatives to enhance the workplace experience.
· Setting and reviewing pay structures and employee perks and benefits.
· Ensure the company’s employment policies and procedures comply with all necessary legislation and regulations.
· Handling disciplinary processes and formal grievances.
· Maintaining employee records.
· Administer employee benefits and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
· HR Reporting, including costs per hire, attendance, time-keeping and sick leave and employee turnover rates.
· Assessing the need for training and designing and implementing training programs accordingly.

Essential Competencies, Knowledge & Experience
· Proven experience as an HR Manager in a retail environment in the United States
· Preferred bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related field.
· Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
· Experience in recruitment, onboarding, and talent management.
· Operationally strong, with the ability to project manage multiple HR deliverables.
· A solid understanding of the key principles of employment law.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic yet remote environment.
· Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· The ability to remain calm in stressful situations including during disciplinary hearings or staff conflicts.
· Solid ethics and morals and sound judgement.
