Developmental Specialists provide individual and group clinical, developmental and support services for individuals of all ages who have, or who may be at risk for, developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or related conditions, and social, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders.
Under direction, incumbents perform a broad range of duties described in the series concept and may assist in program planning by developing goals and objectives, conducting needs assessments, and collecting and reporting information about the program. This is the journey level in the series. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for full-time Developmental Specialist 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following programs: Autism Treatment Assistant Program (ATAP), Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS), Desert Regional Center - Community (DRC) and Desert Regional Center - Intermediate Care Facility (DRC-ICF).
Incumbents create and implement programs, treatment and service plans, provide direct services and case management, develop financial and community resources, and educate, inform, and assist family members, other agencies, and service providers about human growth and development. Developmental Specialists can be assigned to a variety of specialized programs and facilities. Their duties may take place in the home, clinic, hospital, residential, outpatient, and community settings, among others. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and positive work settings. The Position
Revenue Officers research and investigate public and bank records and locate real property, lien information, credit, and tax history from a variety of sources such as bank records, court records, and credit bureaus;examine real property, liens, credit, tax history, income, and the taxpayer's place of business to identify assets and liabilities; compare assets and income to liabilities to determine the ability of the taxpayer to pay delinquent taxes.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located in the Carson City Revenue/Compliance section of the Department of Taxation. Revenue Officers investigate instances of suspected noncompliance with statutes, rules, regulations, and policies through research of Department and other governmental records and other research techniques, and initiate collection/compliance activities as necessary. They collect delinquent tax payments; contact taxpayers and provide information concerning tax liabilities; assist taxpayers in completing tax return forms; issue receipts for tax payments received; and contact businesses which are opening or closing to inform owners of applicable tax laws, regulations, and liabilities. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of experience in one of the following areas: 1) management of a small business or a branch of a major activity in a large business with responsibility for collection of delinquent accounts which must have included the authority to grant, adjust and arrange terms of credit; or 2) two years of experience as a collection agent in a collections agency which must have included the authority to grant, adjust and arrange terms of credit; OR two years of professional experience in tax and revenue investigation, collection and/or enforcement in a government, insurance or financial setting, one year of which must have been in collections; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR one year of experience as a Revenue Officer I or Tax Examiner II in Nevada State service. Special Notes This position has a 25% travel requirement. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
