Job Description

Axiom, the leading provider of on-demand legal talent globally, is seeking risk and compliance professionals with 4 – 8+ years of experience in the superannuation or banking industry to support one of Australia's leading superannuation funds on a long-term interim to perm role. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, collaborating closely with internal business and legal leaders, guiding teams on compliance initiatives across the business.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain the risk profile for ensuring risk exposures remain within appetite.
Conduct proactive risk assessments across operational processes, third-party service providers, and investment performance activities.
Deliver risk reporting and insights to senior executives, committees, and the Board, with a focus on operational, investment, and third-party risk.
Lead or participate in governance forums related to operational risk, investment risk, and performance risk, fostering collaboration across business and risk teams.
Qualifications:

Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and controls, particularly in investment operations or financial services.
Knowledge of enterprise risk, operational risk, and compliance requirements, including regulatory and governance expectations (e.g., APRA standards).
Familiarity with investment operations, performance measurement, and related business processes.
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, particularly in complex organisational structures.
Proven experience in a Line 1 risk management role, ideally within investment operations or financial services.
