Job Description
This is not a conventional FAO sales role.
We are looking for a seller who understands both the back-office complexity of enterprise finance operations across diverse APAC regulatory environments and the transformative potential of AI in that space — someone who can walk into a CFO’s office in Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, or Mumbai and articulate a compelling AI-first future with regional credibility.
Key Responsibilities
FAO Sales & Business Development
Drive end-to-end sales for Finance & Accounting Outsourcing (FAO) services across P2P, O2C, R2R, and FP&A domains in the APAC region. Identify and develop new business opportunities across Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand), ANZ, Japan, South Korea, India, and Greater China, with a focus on mid-market and large enterprises. Navigate multi-currency, multi-entity, and multi-regulatory environments typical of APAC enterprise finance structures (GST/VAT regimes, local statutory reporting, country-specific compliance mandates). Manage the complete sales cycle — from lead generation and qualification through proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure. Achieve and exceed revenue targets and business growth objectives across assigned APAC territories.
AI Solutions Selling in the FAO Space
A core differentiator for this role: the ability to sell AI transformation as part of the FAO value proposition across APAC’s varied enterprise landscape.
Intelligent Process Automation: Position AI-powered bots, OCR, and straight-through processing solutions that reduce manual intervention in high-volume finance transactions (invoice processing, reconciliations, collections) — especially relevant in markets with high transaction volumes and multi-language documentation. GenAI for Finance: Articulate the value of GenAI-enabled solutions such as AI-driven financial close, anomaly detection, predictive cash flow forecasting, and NLP-based query interfaces — contextualised for APAC CFOs managing complex regional treasury and consolidation requirements. AI Audit & Compliance Copilots: Sell AI tools that enhance audit readiness and regulatory compliance (IFRS, local GAAP equivalents, e-invoicing mandates in markets like India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia) and real-time risk flagging across enterprise finance ecosystems. Data & Analytics Layer: Position AI-enabled reporting, dashboards, and CFO-level insights as a managed service layer, addressing the growing demand for real-time regional performance visibility in APAC conglomerates and MNC regional hubs. AI-Readiness Consulting: Help prospects assess their current finance operations maturity and co-create a phased AI transformation roadmap, particularly for organisations transitioning from shared service centres (SSCs) to intelligent finance hubs.
Enterprise Client Engagement
Build and maintain strategic relationships with C-suite stakeholders — CFOs, Controllers, VP Finance, CPOs — at enterprise accounts across APAC, including MNC regional HQs, GCC/GBS hubs, and local conglomerates. Understand the unique pain points of APAC finance leaders: multi-entity consolidation, cross-border compliance, fragmented ERP landscapes, talent scarcity in finance operations, and demand for cost-efficient shared services models. Lead executive-level presentations and business case development that quantify the ROI of AI-led FAO transformation for APAC finance organisations. Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales environments including procurement, IT, finance, legal, and regional finance leadership in matrix organisations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with delivery, pre-sales, solution architecture, and AI/analytics teams to design winning proposals tailored to APAC market requirements. Work closely with technology partners (ERP vendors, AI platform providers, RPA vendors) operating in APAC to build integrated solution narratives. Participate in regional industry events, analyst briefings, and thought leadership initiatives (e.g., APAC CFO summits, IMA, ACCA events) to build market presence.
Market Intelligence & Sales Operations
Track market trends in FAO, intelligent automation, AI adoption in finance, and BPO/KPO competitive landscape specific to APAC — including the rise of GCC/GBS hubs in India, Malaysia, Philippines, and the growth of finance outsourcing in ANZ. Monitor regulatory developments across APAC jurisdictions relevant to finance outsourcing (e-invoicing mandates, data residency laws, cross-border data transfer regulations). Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and executive presentations with clear deal progression metrics across APAC territories. Contribute to GTM strategy for AI-enhanced FAO solutions targeting APAC verticals and geographies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
12–15 years of progressive experience in Sales or Business Development, with a minimum of 5 years specifically in FAO services. Proven track record of closing large enterprise deals (TCV USD 2M+ preferred) in BPO, KPO, or Finance Outsourcing, ideally with APAC-based clients or regional mandates. Demonstrated experience working with enterprise clients across APAC markets — particularly Southeast Asia, ANZ, India, or Japan/Korea. Background in IT services, BPO, consulting, or technology-led managed services organisations with a regional operating model.
APAC Market & Regulatory Knowledge
Working knowledge of APAC finance regulatory environments: GST frameworks (Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, India), e-invoicing mandates (India GSTN, Malaysia MyInvois, Indonesia e-Faktur), and country-specific statutory reporting. Understanding of shared services and GCC/GBS dynamics in APAC — including delivery locations (India, Philippines, Malaysia, Sri Lanka) and enterprise buyer expectations. Familiarity with cross-border treasury, intercompany accounting, and transfer pricing complexity common in APAC MNC structures.
AI & Technology Fluency
Working knowledge of AI/ML applications in finance: intelligent document processing, predictive analytics, NLP-based query tools, anomaly detection. Familiarity with leading platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, and AI/automation layers (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Copilot Studio). Ability to translate AI capabilities into business outcomes for non-technical finance stakeholders across diverse APAC enterprise cultures. Understanding of GenAI trends in enterprise finance — including LLM-based copilots, AI-enabled reconciliation, and conversational finance analytics.
Sales & Relationship Skills
Exceptional communication and executive presence, with the cultural intelligence to engage CFOs and finance leadership across APAC’s diverse business cultures (e.g., consensus-driven decision-making in Japan/Korea, relationship-first selling in SEA, direct engagement styles in ANZ). Strong negotiation, proposal writing, and commercial structuring skills adaptable to varying APAC procurement norms. Demonstrated ability to build long-term client relationships and grow accounts through value-based selling in multi-geography, multi-currency deal environments. Experience in consultative and solution selling — not transactional sales.
Education
MBA in Sales, Marketing, Finance, or related field preferred. CPA, CA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent finance credentials are a strong differentiator in APAC markets. Certifications in AI, data analytics, or enterprise finance technology are a strong plus.
Language
Business-level English is mandatory. Proficiency in Mandarin, Japanese, Bahasa Malay/Indonesia, or other APAC languages is a significant advantage for specific territory coverage.
Preferred Skills
Prior experience selling AI-enhanced BPO or intelligent automation solutions to enterprise finance functions in APAC. Understanding of finance transformation programs including ERP migrations, shared services consolidation, and GCC/GBS build-operate-transfer (BOT) strategies in APAC. Experience co-selling with technology platform partners (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, etc.) in the APAC solutions ecosystem. Familiarity with outcome-based and gain-sharing commercial models for managed services, including APAC-specific pricing sensitivities and commercial structures. Strong CFO/finance leadership network within target APAC markets (Singapore, Australia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Japan). Prior experience navigating APAC data residency and cross-border data transfer regulations in outsourcing contracts.
Why This Role Is Different
You won’t just be selling labour arbitrage across APAC.
You’ll be selling the future of finance — where AI handles the routine, humans handle the strategic, and our clients across Asia-Pacific gain a decisive competitive edge. If you can walk into a boardroom in Singapore, Sydney, or Tokyo and paint that picture with credibility, data, regional intelligence, and a clear path to ROI — this role is built for you.
