About the role:
We're seeking an experienced and strategic Sales Manager to drive commercial growth and lead a high-performing sales team. Based in Melbourne, this role will shape and execute our sales strategy, build strong customer and internal partnerships, and champion innovation across sales, marketing, and product initiatives. Build and maintain strategic customer relationships, leading sales development, negotiation, and closure of high-value deals
Champion continuous improvement, driving innovation across sales strategy, marketing initiatives, and new product development while ensuring compliance with safety, policy, and regulatory standards.
Drive sales and margin growth by leading the development and execution of a clear strategy focused on retention, acquisition, and value creation.
Oversee forecasting and resource planning to ensure optimal performance and profitability.
Lead, coach and develop a high-performing multi-site sales team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and ongoing professional growth.
Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings to support success and deliver results.
Build strong cross-functional partnerships to influence product development, market positioning, and customer solutions that enhance competitive advantage.
Use data and insights to identify market opportunities, assess business performance, and drive informed decision-making.
What you bring to the role:
Minimum 3+ years' experience in a sales leadership role within the construction, building materials, manufacturing, or related trades industry, with a proven track record of managing and developing successful sales teams.
Strong leadership capability, including experience leading, coaching, engaging, and managing performance to build high-performing, accountable teams.
Customer-centric relationship builder with demonstrated success managing strategic, high-value accounts and delivering long-term commercial value.
A proven track record in sales excellence using CRM tools.
Commercially astute, with strong data analytics capability, experience managing P&Ls, and the ability to drive strategic, insight-led decision-making.
Skilled in complex selling and negotiation, including contract management, consultative/solutions-based selling, and navigating multi-stakeholder environments.
Collaborative and tech-savvy, with experience working cross-functionally, supporting NPD or product introduction.
