Roles and Responsibilities
Essential skills :
• Experience in Log Shipping , Database Mirroring, Data Partitioning, Always On Availability Groups and Cluster.
• Experience in Replication Snapshot, Merge and transactional.
• Experience in monitoring database for performance issues.
• Performance Monitoring of OLTP/OLAP database server and databases in MS SQL Server.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery planning, processes, procedures, testing and execution.
• Optimizing and Automating SQL Server Administration.
• Configure and maintain complex databases in AWS, Azure environment.
• SSIS/ SSRS : Troubleshooting and Maintaining SSIS Packages and SSRS Reports with varied complexity
• Managing security, deployment, processing options and post-production support.
• TSQL:
• Designing, troubleshooting, Tuning and Maintaining SQL agent jobs
• Managing security, deployment, scheduling and post-production support.
• Good understanding of database design and constraints.
• Able to analyse Execution plan of the queries
• Additional RDBMS product experience earns bonus points.
Responsibilities :
• Owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs.
• Reviewing service-related reports related to disk space, backups and alerting on a daily basis to ensure service-related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs.
• Responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with Technical Operations team to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.
• Install, Configure & Maintenance of MS SQL Server 2012/2008/2008 R2/2005/2000 Versions and Upgrading Service Packs/hot fixes.
• Maintained Database authentication modes, creation of users, assigning roles to users and managing user permissions, resolving Blocks and deadlocks.
• Setup and monitoring of DB/Server Maintenance jobs and alerts.
Additional Requirement :
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Must be proactive and self-motivated
• Strong knowledge of architecture, core DBA skills for supporting database
• Prepared to work in shifts as per the demands of our US customers and willingness to be on-call 24×7
• Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing skills.
• Good analysis and design capabilities
• Good email and Instant Messenger (IM) etiquette.
