This role is classified as Level 2 Content and Production role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with a base salary range of $68,239 to $89,139). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.
As a rostered shift worker, additional shift penalty payments may apply for work performed outside of ordinary hours, including weekends and public holidays, as per the SBS Enterprise Agreement (EA). SBS may also require you to work reasonable overtime, where overtime will be paid at applicable rates in accordance with the EA.
The Role
The Digital Video Journalist/Producer will be responsible for pitching, creating and publishing news video content for SBS News third-party and owned platforms. The role requires innovative, organised and motivated approach to storytelling, bringing news to audiences on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and our own platforms.
This person will use their skills in journalism, social media production and strong news sense to create content intended to inform, educate, entertain and engage SBS News digital audiences.

You love news storytelling on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn and enjoy bringing fresh ideas to news coverage for digital and social media audiences
You have a passion for bringing key international and national stories to audiences and working within a fast-paced news environment
Are creative and organised, with strong attention to editorial and production detail
In this role, you will:
Pitch, produce, script, edit and present news videos for social media platforms
Identify news content from partner teams including TV, digital teams, in-language teams and NITV to create and produce compelling news video content
Work with a team of highly passionate video and social producers and journalists
Optimise and publish content, and collaborate across the newsroom
Submit work which adheres to SBS News editorial standards and guidelines
Work within the SBS News strategy and contribute to KPIs
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
Strong editorial judgement and good knowledge of international and national affairs Self-aware and empathetic team player with a strong understanding of social media and digital video content and platforms
Versatile journalist/video editor who thrives in a fast-paced news environment, Premiere Pro skills or similar required
