Middle School Nurse/RN Needed in Southern Chicago! Seeking experienced school nurse interested in working with highly engaged students. Job Description:
• Location: Calumet Park, IL
• Contract length: ASAP - June 4th, 2026
• 4th - 8th grade, site-based
• Contract through the 2026/2026 school year – 35 to 40 hours per week
• Contract follows the academic district calendar
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to students and staff members as needed.
• Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health concerns and provide appropriate interventions.
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic illnesses or special health needs.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students.
• Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics, including illness prevention, nutrition, and hygiene.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address health concerns and promote a healthy school environment.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and serve as a resource for school health policies and procedures.
• Stay up to date on current nursing practices, regulations, and guidelines related to school health services.
Certifications/Requirements:
• IL Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Current First Aid or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR/BLS) certification.
• Prior professional nursing experience, preferably working with children/adolescents in school nursing.
Pay:
• $50-$55/hr
• Total on 37.5 hours: $2,000-$2,200 paid WEEKLY
• 10 paid holidays/PTO to be used throughout the school year included
