Temporary (Maternity leave role)
KTC is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Secondary School Teacher with a passion for working with students with additional learning needs. The role would ideally suit a new graduate teacher. Training and professional development to support neuro-diverse students will be offered to the successful candidate, with a view to a permanent position.
Specific requirements:
Provide targeted literacy intervention for individual students and small groups based on evidence-based strategies
Support the socio-emotional needs of the students
Have the capacity to create, implement and evaluate individualised learning plans (ILPs) in collaboration with all stakeholders
Prepare and document lessons in line with ILPs and classroom programs
Set high achievable learning and social goals and support students to achieve them
Work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team
Demonstrate an ability to support students up to Year 12 with their written expression skills
Prepare resources
Able to motivate students to achieve and to develop a life-long love of learning
Have a deep knowledge, understanding and passion for teaching all levels of Secondary School with a focus on Years 7 to 10
Desirable skills:
Ability to follow direction and prioritise
interpersonal skills in working with a diverse range of staff
ability to maintain the quality of assigned work
experience working in a classroom environment
Proficient IT skills
