Sector Client Executive – Insurance (Director)


The opportunity


As an Industry Account Centric Client Executive (CE), you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and delivering exceptional client service (ECS) to our insurance clients. You’ll leverage your deep industry expertise and enterprise sales experience to understand client challenges, introduce transformative solutions, and create strategic alliances that deliver measurable impact. This role focuses on global account strategy, rigorous account planning, and relationship development across major insurance organisations.


This is a hybrid position based in Warrang – Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.


Your key responsibilities


Lead global account strategy and growth, driving revenue and deepening relationships with major insurance clients.
Work with EY’s leadership team to manage one of our largest and most complex accounts through the origination of new opportunities and the development of sincere, lasting client relationships.
Manage the sales process for a portfolio of strategic opportunities, including identifying and closing new business.
Drive the sales of large, complex technology-enabled transformation projects and managed services engagements, ensuring alignment with client needs and organisational goals.
Take ownership of understanding client challenges and engaging the right EY resources to architect and close new business opportunities.
Ensure consistent pricing and contractual arrangements within the account.
Conduct win/loss reviews to determine what factors caused the firm to win or lose business and proactively share this information with the account team.
Coach the account team regarding account management activities, including the account management system.
Experience within a professional services environment will be highly regarded and help you thrive in this role.

Skills and attributes for success


Ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with C-suite executives, leveraging influence and executive presence to drive strategic outcomes.
Deep understanding of the insurance sector combined with commercial acumen to identify opportunities and negotiate complex agreements.
Proven capability to lead account strategy and foster innovation, introducing transformative solutions and alliances that deliver measurable client impact.

Demonstrated experience selling to, or managing relationships with, C-suite executives and heads of business units within Financial Services.
Experience in leading complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles within the insurance or broader financial services sector.
Strong influencing skills and the ability to navigate a matrixed organisation, balancing client priorities with firm objectives.
A proven ability to lead virtual teams brought together around an account opportunity.
Detailed financial knowledge gained through selling complex solutions.
A high degree of self-drive and tenacity, with the ability to proactively manage your own priorities in an autonomous environment.

Salary: We offer a competitive salary which is open to negotiation pending on skills and experience.
