Edelman Global Advisory (EGA) is a newly launched standalone international advisory firm within the Edelman network that owns the firm’s public affairs work. It has rebranded public affairs to advisory to better capture the evolution and future of this sector. Advisory service combines business strategy, government affairs, corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and political risk analysis to help clients navigate changing political dynamics. Our mission is to build trust in today’s evolving geopolitical environment.
Joining the EGA team will provide team members with the opportunity to be involved in the building of this new firm from creating a new culture, to redefining public affairs services, to exploring new services, such as data analytics and political risk analysis. We view ourselves as a start-up built on top of one of the world’s most recognizable brands.
We are looking for someone with interest and experience in policy research, with an account management background, excellent communication and writing skills and an eye for detail. The clients are demanding, and our work is fast-paced – you will need to be a quick thinker, a strong multi-tasker and thrive in a dynamic environment. Senior Analysts will support client teams tracking deliverables, monitoring issues, conducting research, and producing first round drafts of deliverables for clients as assigned. Senior Analysts will also support and monitor issues for new business development and existing clients. Senior Analysts will report to Senior Program Manager.
The precise nature of activities will depend on the priorities and client work during the time of the placement, to be agreed upon. However, the responsibilities and tasks are likely to include the following:
• A focus on public affairs and research, strategy, engagement, and communication programmes for clients, including but not limited to industrials, healthcare, agriculture, energy, sustainability, as well as related specific issues
• Produce first round client deliverables
• Serving as the day-to-day contact with clients, identifying and flagging policy challenges and opportunities and providing related strategic advice.
• Supporting the organization and preparation of materials for meetings, events, or other clients/stakeholders/media engagement activities
• Providing day-to-day support, both agency and client-side, including regular conference calls and clear, concise public affairs briefings for planning rollouts
• Liaising with regional and global Edelman teams and managing the rollouts of all plans and assets
• Tracking key client related events & its planning, logistics and management
• Identifying policy and market trends and pitching new business opportunities
• Support in drafting thought leadership positioning notes
• Support in business development
Basic Qualifications:
• At least 3-4 years of experience in consulting or corporate association, or private firm leading work related to relevant region or sector
• University degree in political science, communications, international relations, health and nutrition policy, law or other relevant field
• Excellent analytical and written skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - a positive approach with a self-learning attitude
• Ability to work under pressure and on multiple assignments
• Proactive approach, willingness to take the initiative, and ability to network
• Good understanding of the media landscape
• Ability to work effectively in a varied environment and within small dynamic teams
• Knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), additional skills are a plus.
• Interest in digital forms of communication and a good understanding of the social media landscape.
