Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Bangalore. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing various financial activities, including month-end closing, preparation of financial statements, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and experience with accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, etc.) in compliance with Indian GAAP and IFRS (where applicable).
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
Accounting Operations:
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting transactions.
Ensure proper accounting treatment for all transactions, including revenue recognition, accruals, and expenses.
Manage fixed asset register, depreciation calculations, and related adjustments.
Taxation and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with GST, income tax, and other relevant local taxes.
Prepare and file GST returns, TDS returns, and income tax returns in a timely manner.
Coordinate with external auditors for audit preparation and support, ensuring adherence to tax and regulatory requirements.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and variance analysis.
Monitor actual performance against budget and provide recommendations for improvements.
Process Improvement & Internal Controls:
Implement and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
Continuously improve accounting processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Team Management:
Supervise and mentor junior accountants, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HR, legal, and operations to ensure smooth financial operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's degree or MBA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required).
Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2-3 years in a Shared Service Center.
Proven experience in handling complex financial reporting, reconciliation, and tax matters in a corporate setting.
Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of Indian GAAP, IFRS, and taxation regulations (GST, Income Tax).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with senior management and external auditors.
Desirable Qualities:
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Ability to adapt to changing regulations and a fast-paced environment.
Previous experience working in a multinational company is an advantage.
