Job Description
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the Bank through accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient internal accounting processes. This position requires a thorough understanding of community banking operations and relevant accounting principles. The Senior Accountant works closely with internal departments and external auditors to ensure the Bank’s financial activities align with GAAP, FDIC, OCC (or FRB) regulations, and internal policies.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
· Ensure accurate general ledger maintenance including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
· Manage and reconcile daily cash positions and bank reconciliations.
· Assist with Call Report preparation and other regulatory filings.
· Monitor internal controls and assist with periodic internal and external audits.
· Support budgeting and forecasting processes; provide variance analysis and financial insights.
· Maintain fixed asset schedules and monthly depreciation.
· Review and assist in preparation of journal entries, employee benefits reconciliations, and accruals.
· Coordinate with departments such as lending, operations, and compliance to gather information for financial reporting.
· Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proficient in Excel and Word
Well-organized and able to manage time efficiently
Knowledge of Regulation E and other relevant regulations is preferred
· Exceptional communication skills, including oral and written communications
· Adheres to ethical and moral conduct that creates trust with key stakeholders
· Problem-solving skills including conceptual and analytical thinking
· Proficient in planning and time management; creating new processes and procedures when needed
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field required
· 3+ years banking/accounting experience
· Experience with core banking and general ledger systems (e.g., COCC, Oracle, Banktel, Blackline, etc).
· Knowledge of Excel, Word, and other Office products.

Schedule:
Full Time - Monday to Friday
Hybrid 3 days in office / 2 days work from home (after probationary period)
Commute:
· Ability to commute to New Providence, New Jersey on a daily basis
Salary:
· $75K - $90K based upon experience
