Position Overview


We are seeking an Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting processes, including month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations in compliance with GAAP. This role oversees an offshore accounting team, supports audits, and partners with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate financial data. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of accounting experience, strong technical and Excel skills, and industry background in telecommunications or construction.


Key Responsibilities


Handle all aspects of the accounting process, from recording transactions to closing the books on a monthly basis
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Prepare journal entries for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other general ledger activities on a monthly basis, prior to month close
Oversee offshore accounting team to complete ongoing tasks (bank reconciliations, bill entry, AR reconciliations, etc...)
Perform complex reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including liability accounts, asset accounts, and intercompany accounts.
Participate directly in external audits and prepare necessary workpapers for auditors
Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and sales, to gather financial information and ensure proper accuracy
Implement and train staff on accounting software to streamline financial processes and improve data accessibility
Understanding of partial billing/percent completion accounting
Collaborate with accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and payroll teams to ensure accurate financial data.
Support to include research and communicating with various departments during annual audit
Assist in continuous process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting operations and reporting.

Qualifications


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience: 2–5 years of relevant general ledger or financial accounting experience – preferably in the Telecommunications and Construction industries
Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite, QBO, Sage)
Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc…).
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
