Senior Accountant / Client Manager (Practice Role, Office Based)
We are a growing accountancy firm looking for a Senior Accountant to join us in a client manager role. This is an entirely office based position and is suited to someone with practice experience who has previously managed their own portfolio of clients.
You will be given a varied portfolio of clients and will act as their main point of contact, taking day to day ownership of ensuring all compliance work is delivered accurately and on time. This includes VAT returns, CIS returns and year end accounts. You will be supported by accounts assistants and junior accountants who will assist with bookkeeping, VAT and CIS returns and accounts preparation on some clients for you to review. Partners will provide overall oversight and support, but this role is about taking ownership of managing your clients and their deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of clients and act as the main point of contact
Ensure VAT returns, CIS returns and year end accounts are prepared and filed on time
Review work prepared by junior team members and provide guidance and support
Allocate work within the team to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met
Communicate confidently with clients, explaining figures, liabilities and deadlines clearly
Work closely with partners who provide overall oversight and support
Support and develop junior team members
About You
Previous experience working in an accountancy practice is essential
Experience managing your own portfolio of clients
Comfortable taking ownership of client relationships and compliance deadlines
Strong communication skills and confident dealing with clients
Organised, reliable and able to manage multiple deadlines
Ambitious and keen to grow with a growing firm

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
