Job Purpose
This contract position will assist in the delivery across WarnerMedia International for the Statutory (including tax), audit, and compliance matters. The role provides critical business support to the Finance team for management and financial reporting and partners closely with the global statutory reporting COE and WarnerMedia tax teams for all areas related to the statutory reporting and audit cycle.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop and execute strategy on an annual basis to deliver all compliance requirements by various country timelines across Asia, utilizing a combination of internal and outsourced accounting resources
• Proactively manage statutory filing process through on-going engagement and communication with multiple company officeholders, including the region CFO, heads of legal, general managers etc.; present financial statement reviews with senior leaders to obtain financial statement sign-off and ensure timely filing of obligations with appropriate country authorities
• Assist with the annual statutory Financial Statement audits with PwC across multiple APAC geographies for various WarnerMedia legal entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP
• Coordinate between auditors (PwC), in-house accounting hubs and local outsourced accounting firms to maintain a calendar of deliverables and deadlines for WarnerMedia APAC subsidiaries’ local statutory and tax reporting requirements.
• Manage Ernst & Young relationship for the preparation of annual statutory reporting, including footnote disclosures and various tax engagements
• Assist with the preparation and review of indirect tax (GST/VAT) submissions and any other local tax submissions (WHT, national statistics filings).
• Partner with local accounting partner (Ernst & Young) for the preparation and review of the annual Corporate Income Tax Return and any other annual tax requirements, ensuring all compliance deadlines are met.
• Develop and promote relevant processes, systems and controls to ensure the integrity of financial records and that financial control is maintained and developed across WarnerMedia APAC.
• Ensure all reporting is accurate and timely, and in line with company policies, best practices and US/local GAAP.
• Maintain effective internal control environment ensuring controls are documented and compliant with various territory requirements and WarnerMedia SOX policy.
• Perform ad hoc analysis for GBS leadership, EMEA & APAC CFO/Finance teams, Head of Legal (International) and WarnerMedia tax departments
Essential
Qualifications & Experience:
• Fully qualified Chartered Accountant –with minimum 3 years of post qualification experience
• Strong technical experience including experience of month end management accounting for revenue and cost
• Strong executive presence to due to interaction with senior business leaders and professional partners
• US GAAP reporting and SOX experience
• Experience of multi-site and multi-currency reporting
• Experience navigating a matrixed organization
• Experience liaising with outsourced bookkeeping providers
• Strong written reporting skills and experience

• Experience working with a US based company
• Experience with direct and indirect tax compliance
• Experience working with outsourced financial functions
