Responsibilities
• Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and journal entries.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, providing insights into the company's financial health.
• Budget Management: Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, track actual performance against budgeted figures, and provide variance analysis.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee timely preparation and filing of tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other relevant taxes.
• Auditing and Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and facilitate smooth audits by both internal and external parties.
• Payroll Processing: Manage payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions, taxes, and benefits administration for employees.
• Vendor Management: Review vendor invoices, process payments, and maintain relationships with suppliers while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Bank Reconciliation: Conduct regular bank and financial account reconciliations to ensure accurate recording of transactions and identify discrepancies.
• Financial Analysis: Provide in-depth financial analysis, forecasts, and insights to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
• Team Supervision: Oversee and guide junior accounting staff, providing mentorship, training, and assistance as needed.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA designation is a plus).
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, with a proven track record in a supervisory or senior role.
• Familiarity with the jewelry industry or retail sector would be advantageous.
