Position reports to: Finance Director, North America
Location: Wixom and Chelsea, Michigan
Work style: Hybrid Full-Time (1-2 Days Remote, 3-4 Days On-Site)

Role Overview:
This role will have day-to-day accounting oversight of two growth-oriented businesses and will be responsible for providing accounting support to the Financial Controller, North America, and the respective businesses’ management team on the delivery of full month end close, assisting on all finance functions as appropriate, balance sheet reconciliation, journals, tax returns, P&L review, accruals and month end reports.
Responsibilities:
• Preparation of monthly financial reports covering balance sheet, profit and loss, internal management reports and cashflow statements
• Managing the general ledger including overseeing the monthly balance sheet, banking, and inter-company reconciliations
• Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with accepted accounting principles (US GAAP and IFRS)
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with fixed asset schedules including depreciation, disposals and roll forwards.
• Weekly cash flow reporting
• Evaluate internal controls and accounting processes, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits, providing documentation, explanations, and assistance as needed to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
• Assist in tax compliance activities.
• Collaborate with other departments such as finance, operations, and sales to provide financial expertise, support business initiatives, and address accounting related matters.
• Managing foreign currency payments (if relevant)
• Preparation of Division Income Tax returns
• Assisting in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts
• Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting
• Reporting consolidated results at a group level (if applicable)
• International reporting as required (e.g. US GAAP, SOX, IFRS)
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Liaison with external Auditors, Bank Managers and Tax specialists
• Assisting in process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives
• Proactively identify new initiatives that could benefit the organization.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Behaviors:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• Minimum 5 years of general accounting work experience in industry (ideally engineering services, industrial or similar environment)
• Experience with multinational and/or publicly traded company
• Strong technical accounting background in US GAAP and/or IFRS
• Experience in filing sales and use tax returns
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• 2+ years’ experience with QuickBooks
• Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills
• Leadership capabilities
• A high degree of computer proficiency (particularly Excel) and experience with QuickBooks
• Sound planning and organizational skills, with an emphasis on continual process improvement, benchmarking and best practices
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
• A genuine curiosity to delve into processes, procedures and issues to understand them
Other:
Ability to travel between Wixom and Chelsea (Ann Arbor), with approximately two days working at the Chelsea site.
